The Cluffy Wedge
The Cluffy Wedge is an add-on or extension to foot orthotics trademarked by Dr James Clough, DPM designed to hold the hallux in a slightly dorsiflexed position. They are one of a number of foot orthotic variables that can be used to help functional hallux limitus and other disorders associated with the function of the windlass mechanism.
Most foot orthotic labs do have the Cluffy Wedge or something that is similar that they might call something else. The main effect of the extension or add-on is to get the windlass mechanism working sooner which can be helpful in functional hallux limitus and other related conditions.
